What is a book?

A book to me is a place to escape reality and take in someone else’s thoughts. A book to me is not what material it is made of, it is really what is on the inside. As they say 'don't judge a book by its cover', you can't set limits to what book you’re going to read because of its materials. You have to be open to any type because something that might be just a paperback book and not in an eBook form could be the best book you have ever read. I personally don’t get a magical feeling when I read out of a book or an eBook. I don’t see the difference and how it can change someone’s thought about the book. The thing that I like most about the kindle is that the texture is not like a book, I hate the texture of a normal book with the sandpaper gross paper. Something I like about a normal book is that you can see your progress each day because of how many pages are on each side of the book. I like that we have an option for both electronic books and a normal paperback, but I don’t like how it sometimes dictates what people will read. A book to me is what is on the inside and what he story is really about. Instead people are too worried about how they can’t read on normal books because of… whatever their reasoning is. I agree with Joe Meno’s thoughts that a book is what is on the inside rather than the materials that make the book, it’s all the same book just with different materials. My opinion is that people need to learn to focus what the book is about rather than what the book is made of.
